In the late ’s, the Rhode Island Water Resources Board (WRB) determined that ground water was the only viable source of additional water for public supply in southern Rhode Island. The USGS, through its year cooperative program with the WRB, has studied ground water in several basins of Rhode Island, including each of five study areas.
